Activities

The Pawnee District offers many activities year round for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing Crews.  Don't see the event you're looking for here?  Check the district calendar and click the links on the date you're looking for and it will take you to the correct page.

District Dinner: February 12th, 2012   Thank you to everyone who attended this year's District Dinner; a great time was shared by all!  A special thanks to Gene Krehbiel, Cheryl Hammarlund, Kris Griffith, Jo Irsik, Dr. Larry Bumguardner, and Rick Roberts, who all contributed to making this event special.  Thank you!

Camp Alaska: February 17th - 19th, 2012  Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Camp Alaska!  An especially big thank you goes out to Greg Hall, Phil Schmitt, and the other volunteers from Troop 301 who helped make this year's event possible!

Spring Camporee: April 20th - 22nd, 2012   We had a great time at the Spring Camporee!  A special thank you to Richard and Mary Smith, Erik Peterson, Kelly Bruce, and Dan Fee, who all helped to make the Camporee a success.  Lots of Scouts completed requirements for the Pioneering Merit Badge, including making rope, practicing their knots and lashings, and building some awesome pioneering projects that were on display at the campfire.  Great job, everyone!

Day Camp: May 31st - June 2nd, 2012   Flyer / Registration Form found here   Pre-registrations are due Saturday, April 28th.  Registrations received after April 28th will be charged a $5 per person late fee.  No registrations will be accepted after May 17th.

All attendees must have a BSA Annual Health and Medical Record form on file with the Day Camp administration to participate.  Parts A and B must be completed (part C is not required, as Day Camp does not take place for 72 or more consecutive hours).  Access the Annual Health and Medical Record form here.

Hey Boy Scouts and Adult Scouters!  Would you like to be a member of the Pawnee/Kanza Day Camp Staff?  If so, complete the application here and contact Richard Smith, Day Camp Staff Coordinator, at 316-461-0582 or truckin4usa@hotmail.com.

The Day Camp Patch Design Contest is now closed.  Check back soon to see the winning design and learn about the contest winner!

Attention, Cub Scout leaders!  The Day Camp Leaders' Guide is now available, packed full of all the information you've been looking for about Day Camp but couldn't find yet.  Click here to access the Guide.

On Saturday, May 26th at 2:00 PM at Camp Kanza, we'll be holding an orientation session for Day Camp Leaders.  All Packs that will be attending Day Camp are strongly encouraged to send at least one adult leader to this orientation, but any leaders or parents that would like to attend are welcome.  We'll review the Day Camp policies and procedures to ensure that everyone is on the same page (bring your copy of the Leaders' Guide!), do a quick walkthrough of the facilities at Camp Kanza that we'll be using so everyone knows where to go, distribute Day Camp cups and T-shirts if they are available, and answer any questions about Day Camp that you may still have.

Our ultimate goal is to make Day Camp the best experience possible for everyone, so please help us to do just that!
