From Your High Plains District Executive... Greetings High Plains, My name is Richard Longstaff, and I am the District Executive for the High Plains District.

I am a Friends University graduate from here in Wichita Kansas. My degree is in Human Resources Management.  Based on my past work history I bring 10+ years of on-the-job retail experience in employee relations, training, coaching, succession planning and leadership to the Quivira Council.  After many years of successful relationship building within the retail field, I felt very strongly about seeking new opportunities that would transition my career to an environment that would be more rewarding to me personally.  I am originally from the southeast corner of Iowa, along the Mississippi River, where I created many memorable scouting experiences during my Junior High years.  I am happily married with two great little kids, and when I am not spending time hanging out with them, you will probably find me at my church helping with the youth or simply strengthening my faith through meaningful fellowship. I feel very blessed to have been given this great opportunity to join the Boy Scouts of America family, and can't wait to personally meet each and every one of you.  if you have any needs or questions, please contact me at 491-7771 or Richard.Longstaff@Scouting.org
