Camp Kanza is located in the beautiful Ninnescah Valley, southwest of Hutchinson, Kansas. Heavliy wooded on 160 acres, there are a variety of tree, shrub and sage covered sand and hills. A spring-fed lake, tall prairie grasses and marshland wildlife habitat round out this four season property which is the Quivira Council Cub and Webelo Scout Camp. Kanza began as a resident Boy Scout Summer camp, which is reflected in the two-thirds olympic size swimming pool, dining hall, archery and gun ranges as well as a C.O.P.E. course. A capital campaign in the early 1960's and the current 'Delivering the Promise' Capitol Campaign have insured that this property offers year round program areas suitable for youth of all ages as well as an excellent adult leader training facility. A Rededication of the Smith Lodge/Cobra Patrol Dining Hall held on June 23, 2011 offered visitors an opportunity to tour the camp property and experience first hand all of the new venues that Camp Kanza has to offer, including the Cessna Aviation Center, Fort Star, BMX Trail and future site of the Spirit Aerosystems Learning Center.
